This article explains how to import Cashbook Batch transactions into your Evolution company.
Resolution
Consider the following advice to achieve the above outcome:
A. Bank Statement Manager (Bank Manager)
The Bank Manager module allows you to import bank statement transactions into a cashbook batch.
This is accomplished by first manually exporting bank statement transactions from your online banking website into an export file as saved on your PC.
You will then manually browse for the above export file (now being used as an import file) to import the transactions into a cashbook batch of your choice.
B. Bank Feeds
The bank feeds feature is an import utility found within the Bank Manager module and significantly increases your import productivity.
This feature allows you to seamlessly import bank statement transactions. However, in this case, you don’t even need to first browse for an import file.

C. Using your own manually formatted import file to import transactions
Apply the following steps to achieve the above outcome:
1. Open this link for a file called Cashbook Batch IMPORT.csvDownload and copy it to your local PC.
2. Open the CSV file and note the following:
- Don't delete any columns even if you're not using them.
- Keep all columns in the same order/sequence. As you may have realized, there is no Field Mapping feature in the Cashbook batch import screen. Therefore, keep all columns as they are.
- Add as many rows (transaction records) as required for all your transaction lines.
- Substitute the Amount and other required columns (e.g. Reference, Description, etc.) values in the various rows
- Column K: Is Debit: Y = Deposit amount, N = Payment amount
- Column AA: 0 = if using a GL account, 1 = if using a Customer account, 2 = if using a Supplier account
- Column A: Tx Date: Use the same short date format as used on your local PC's Regional Settings, e.g. dd/mm/yyyy
- Ensure the Short Date Format on the import file = dd/mm/yyyy
- Select the Windows Format option below on the import setup screen

3. When done editing the import file, ensure it's saved as a CSV file format and then close it.
4. In the Cashbook batch, ensure all transaction lines are cleared (having no transaction lines and save the batch.
5. In the Cashbook batch, go to File | Import.
6. In the above screen, browse for the import file, and then import it.
7. You should now observe the imported bank statement transactions in your cashbook batch.
