Bank Manager, Bank Feeds: Setting up Bank Feeds for access to the Sage Demo Bank
Description

This article discusses the steps to set up Bank Feeds for access to the Sage Demo Bank. This article should also be helpful when setting up Bank Feeds for your live Bank Accounts.

Cause

Resolution

Apply the following steps to achieve the above outcome:

Phase 1: Preparation

First, ensure the following components are in place before continuing with the setup.

A. Registered Evolution Package: Valid Customer Number

Your Evolution company must be registered and a valid and active Customer Number must be displayed on the Help | About screen

B. Unique E-mail address per Evolution Company

You may have different Evolution companies where Bank Feeds are used.

However, when setting up bank Feeds, ensure you use a unique and valid E-mail address per individual Evolution company on the following screen.

C. Unique GL Account Codes used for relevant Bank Accounts

You may have different Evolution companies where Bank Feeds are used, all linked to the same SageCommon database.

In this case, always ensure each Bank Account is based on a unique GL Account Number (Account Code) across all companies.

For instance, GL Account code 3000-200 is used as a bank account in Evolution company ABC and is configured for Bank Feeds.

Therefore, you cannot also use 3000-200 in any other company as a Bank Account with Bank Feeds.

D. Bank Manager registered

The Bank Statement Manager module should be registered in your Evolution package. As a result, Bank Manager 2 should be listed on the Help | About screen, as  seen below.

E. Demo Company

Configure Bank Feeds for the Sage Demo Bank account in a DEMO Evolution company.

This is to prevent the accidental posting of downloaded demo bank statement transactions in your live Evolution company.

When satisfied and confident in how it works, you can then apply the same set up and importing steps in your live company.

Also, note the following:

The above-discussed preparation steps (except for E.) are also required when setting up Bank Feeds for one of your live bank accounts.
