Interim Employer Reconciliation Submission

1. I have generated my IRP5 file on Release 5.8a and already submitted my reconciliation to SARS. Should I resubmit my file and declaration?

We recommend that your payroll should be on 5.9a, which was released and available as from 16 September 2022, as the new release includes the IRP5 changes aligned with the 2022/2023 SARS Business Requirement Specification. The SARS e@syFile software on the latest version (7.2.8) will apply the validations on import of the IRP5 files. If you have concerns about the submission, we would recommend to contact SARS to confirm if your submission was successful, as your submission might not have include any of the validations or IRP5 codes included with the new versions.

 

2. Why is there no tax certificates available for my employees when I generate my  Live Run file, to import into e@syFile?

During the Interim Reconciliation submission, no certificates are provided to employees, thus the option is not available on the IRP5/IT3a report. Only during tax year-end, when final certificates are submitted to SARS, it is required to provide the  tax certificates to your employees.

3. Why can I not create a copy system for the Interim EMP501 Reconciliation submission?

The Interim EMP501 Reconciliation submission is extracts are performed from your live payroll August (final period of the month in the case of wages companies) or any subsequent period. It is not necessary to create a separate system as you would with a new tax year, when the YTD figures are cleared.

4. How do I add or remove users to the Sage Portal?

It is important to regularly maintain the access of your users to the information of your company on the Sage Portal. Each company can have on Admin (Default) user, who is responsible to maintain the details of the users. Click here for more information.

NOTE: The Sage Portal users are not linked to your payroll users on Payroll Professional.

 

5. How do I log a query to Customer Support on the Sage Portal?

We have made it easier for our customers to log and view queries on the Sage Portal. When you log in, click on Support > Log a Query, and you will have access to log a query to the support teams for the specific product you use.
