How to create a Tax Year-end Instance

The year-end copy instance allows you to create your employee tax certificates for the Annual Employer Reconciliation Submission to the South African Revenue Service (SARS).

Prerequisites to create a Copy System

• Your payroll as at year-end is completed
• The destination drive must have enough available disk space for the system copy
• No users can access the payroll system during the copy process

Steps to create a Tax Year-end Instance Copy

• Access your payroll company from the Company Listing screen
• From the Main Menu, select Utilities, and then Start New Period
• The on-screen message indicates that the backup created saves to both Live Data and Tax Year-end Instance

 NOTE: Retrieve all backups under “Actions” on the Payroll Subscription screen. 

• Complete the Start New Period process to the new tax year
• The Tax Year-end Instance is now available and accessible from the Actions menu on the Payroll Subscription screen

• The Tax Year Instances are group per tax year and month, and displays the release version
