Run the year end in Sage 50cloud Pastel: No SQL

Run the year end in Sage 50cloud Pastel without SQL. You can create a new company to archive last year's data, or run the year end in your current company.

 

 

How this works

You have two ways to run a standard year end:

1. Create a new company: Sage 50cloud Pastel creates a new company for the year end. Each year lives in its own company, so you keep more than two years of history.
2. Don't create a new company: Sage 50cloud Pastel runs the year end in your current company. You keep the last two years of data in this company.

Before you start

• Back up your company data.  See Process a backup in Sage 50cloud Pastel.
• Complete your year end preparation. See the year end preparation articles for the required steps.
• Print your year-end reports.
• Allow enough time. Depending on your data size, a year end can take hours.

Start the year end

1. From the main menu, select Change, then Year End.
2. Read the message that appears, then select Yes.
3. If you set up a 13th period, select Yes on the next message.

Choose your path:

• To create a new company, follow the Create a new company steps
• To keep everything in your current company, follow the Don't create a new company steps

Create a new company

1. Select Create a new company called.

2. Enter a folder name for the new company.

3. Choose where to run the year end:

   • Clear the checkbox to run the year end in your current company. The new company keeps last year's data
   • Select the checkbox to run the year end in the new company. Your current company keeps last year's data

4. Select Next.

5. Select OK on the company creation confirmation.

6. When the reminder to print your financial reports appears, print them if you haven't already.

7. Select Next.

8. Select Next at the year end summary.

9. Select Process.

Don't create a new company

1. Select Don't create a new company.

2. Select Next.

3. When the reminder to print your financial reports appears, print them if you haven't already.

4. Select Next.

5. Review the year end summary.

6. Select Next.

7. Select Process.
