What is a Sage Account?  

A Sage Account(formerly known as Sage ID) is the identity and authentication solution at Sage.  It is the digital identity of all Sage users who engage with the Sage Business Cloud ecosystem, and how we manage that identity, it is a lot more than just passwords. 

There are 3 core components:


  • Digital Identity (ID)- A way to uniquely identify an individual and the way they interact with Sage.
  • Identity Management System (IdMS)- A technology platform that lets the user log in and authenticate, managing the process and user interface of log in.
  • Identity Provider (IdP)- A service that stores and verifies the user identity, essentially keeping a record that "this identity authenticates in this way."

How to access the Customer Portal and sign in via a Sage Account  



  • On the next drop down select Sage Business Cloud Accounting and click continue

  • You will be directed to the page below. Fill in your email address and password (include special characters for a stronger password)


New User - How to sign up for a Sage Account

  • If you are a New User to Sage Account click on Create account

  • Complete the requested information and click on Sign up.
  • A unique code will then be sent to your email address. 
  • Enter the code on the below screen.

Please note:  If there is a delay in receiving the code, you can click on Resend code and it will be sent to the email address you have registered.

  • Once the code is entered, you will then be directed to the screen below. 

  • Enter your Customer Number or Registration ID

Your Registration ID can be found within Sage Accounting under Administration > My Profile > My Details and starts with MBR.  Please note you will need to enter the last 6 digits which can be found on the right-hand side of the screen.  View our article on How to find your MBR Number/Reg ID

Your Customer Number can be found on your Sage invoice. 

  • Email Address - enter the email address you have used when registering the profile if you are the Subscription Owner(Administrator).

If you are not the Subscription Owner(Administrator) - Enter the Customer Number or Registration ID and under E-mail Address enter the Subscription Owner(Administrator) email address and click Submit.

  • An approval email will be sent to the Subscription Owner(Administrator) to either approve or decline the request.
  • Once approved you will have successfully created your Sage Account


Existing User: How to Reset your Password

When you click on Create an Account, you will receive a notification as shown on the screen below indicating that this email address is already in use for a Sage account.

By clicking on cancel button, the system will take you back to the initial login page.


  • Click on Forgot Password to reset your password.
  • Enter your email address

  • You will receive an email to reset your password. 

  • To reset password, click on the reset password link and you will be directed to a screen to change your password.
  • Once the password has been changed, you will be able to login to the customer portal using the screen below.
