You installed the payroll application on a server. The user will access the system from their workstations over the network, from where you share the system.
Each user needs to network map drive to access the system and features to work.

Share the payroll folder on the network
Access the payroll server.
Right-click on the payroll folder and select Properties.
Click the Sharing tab.
Choose the people in your network to share the drive with.
Set the Permission Level to Read/Write.
Click Add.
Click the Security tab.
Change the Authenticated User access to Full Control.
Click Apply.

Add the mapped drive on the workstation
Access the user workstation.
Click in the Search bar on your desktop Taskbar.
Type in This PC and press Enter.
The 'This PC' application appears.
Select Map network drive.
Select a letter you want for the drive, for example Z:
Copy the shared network address into the folder box (or browse to it over the network):
Click Finish to save the new mapping.
The new mapped drive now appears under the Network section on File Explorer.
