Set a mapped drive as a trusted site
Description

Add your mapped network drives as trusted sites in Internet Options for the application to run correctly. This process requires administrative access.

Cause
Resolution

Open Internet Options.

  1. Open the Control Panel on your computer

  2. Select Internet Options

    • Alternatively, open Internet Explorer

    • Press F10 to open the top menu

    • Select Tools, then choose Internet Options

Add the mapped drive as a trusted site.

  1. Select the Security tab.

  2. Click Trusted Sites.

  3. Select Sites.

  4. Untick the box Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.

  5. In the field Add this website to the zone, type the mapped drive (for example, z:\).

  6. Click Add.

  7. The Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path (for example, \\server\payroll) will appear in the list.

  8. Click Close.

  9. Select Apply, then OK.

Restart the computer (if needed).

  • If the application still doesn’t open, restart your computer to apply changes
