NOTE: If you use Winzip/7Zip, we advise that you use this guide.

1. Close Pastel Payroll.
2. Locate the zipped folder backup that needs to restore.
3. Right-click the zipped folder.
4. Select Extract All.
   • If you have winzip installed, you will select 7zip and Extract files here... view the 7zip guide here.
     
5. In the “Files will be extracted to this folder” field, type in C:\Payroll\Company Short Name.
    NOTE: Company Short Name: the 8 character name of the yellow folder. Ensure the company file name matches the original backup name.
   For example, a backup named ‘ADMINP(20200404_1158_31032020_20211)’, renamed to this company short name ‘ADMIN’.
   
6. Select Extract
   
   A progress bar will track the Extraction progress.
7. Open Sage Pastel Payroll.
8. Add the company.
9. Go to File then Open.
10. Select your company and press OK.
11. Your company will now open.
