Testing the Pervasive communication
Description

Sage 50cloud Pastel uses the Pervasive/Actian PSQL database engine to read and write data.

For these Sage products to work correctly, Pervasive/Actian must be able to communicate properly across the network between all computers.

To verify that Pervasive/Actian connectivity, use the Pervasive System Analyzer (PSA) utility.

Cause
Resolution
  1. Go to the Windows Search and type Pervasive System Analyser.
  2. Click Pervasive System Analyser  icon for the Pervasive System Analyzer..
  3. Click Next and under Test active installation and select all options.
  4. Click Next then click the button with three dots.
  5. Select the computer you registered as the server machine and click Next.
    • If the test is successful, click Next
    • If the test fails, note the IP address and reason for failure and click Next
  6. Select I want to run the transactional tests and click Next.
  7. Change nothing and click Next until you get to Finish.
  8. Click View Log File.
    • These results confirm the success or failure of the communication test.
  9. Click Finish.

If the PSA fails this will indicate an issue with the communication. Ensure you've added the pervasive posts and program on all machines including the server.
