Consolidate Tax Year End Instances

Sage Payroll Professional lets you merge Tax Year End instances created on different software releases into one system.

Description

You can consolidate Tax Year End instances when the tax year and processing month are identical. The system copies companies from older releases into the highest release version.
The Consolidate Tax Year End option only appears when you launch the highest available release for that Tax Year End.
  • The feature supports consolidation from Release 6.5a and 6.5b to Release 6.6a and later
  • The system supports a maximum of three release versions at one time
  • Original Tax Year End instances on older versions remain unchanged and accessible

Resolution

  1. Log into Sage Payroll Professional.
  2. On the Active Payroll Subscription screen, select More actions.
  3. Choose Tax Year End Management.
  4. Select the year, and locate the month of the payroll year end.
  5. Launch the Tax Year End instance on the highest release version.
  6. Select Consolidate Tax Year End from the menu on the Company Listing screen.
  7. Review the confirmation message explaining the consolidation process.
    Select Continue to start the consolidation process.
  8. Wait for the confirmation message to indicate completion.
  9. Select OK to close the message.
  10. Launch the consolidated Tax Year End instance again.
  11. Select Continue to update all companies to the latest release version.
