Description

The Social Security Commission has announced amendments to the Employment Compensation Act and Social Security Act, effective March 2025.

  • The minimum wage ceiling will increase from N$300 to N$500 per month.
  • The maximum wage ceiling will increase from N$9000 to N$11000 per month.
  • The contribution rate remains unchanged at 0.9% of the employee’s basic wage (for both the employee and employer).

Resolution

Update the SSC limits

  1. Access the Basic Company Information screen:
    • From the Main menu, select Company, then Basic Company Information.
  2. Click the entry field for the SSC Month Earn. Lower Limit.
    • Change the value from 300.00 to 500.00.
    • When you click Enter, the systems prompt you to recalculate – select Yes.
  3. Click the entry field for the SSC Month Earn. Upper Limit.
    • Change the value from 9000.00 to 11000.00.
    • When you click Enter, the systems prompt you to recalculate – select Yes.
  4. The system will apply the new limits to calculate the SSC values for all eligible employees.

 NOTE: From Release 6.4a, the limits will automatically update when you click the entry fields.
