Summary
Description
This article explains why Local and Foreign Currency Customer/Supplier account balances are not updated when processing Foreign Currency Revaluation transactions.
These transactions are missing on the relevant Customers/Suppliers Transactions reports and the relevant Enquiries screens.
These transactions may especially be expected after a Foreign Currency Revaluation transaction was processed.

Resolution
First, consider the following advice:
Running the Foreign Currency Revaluation utility on either a Foreign Currency Supplier or Customer account is not intended to affect the relevant Suppliers (AP) or Customers (AR) account balances.
This is as per the design of Evolution and not due to a software bug.
Consider the following scenario to further explain:
1. You owe supplier AAA $100 as originally processed at a specific exchange rate.
2. According to your financial policies you need to regularly establish the actual balance owing in your local currency due to fluctuating currency exchange rates.
3. After running the foreign currency revaluation you still owe supplier AAA $100 (and nothing less or more), regardless of the results of the foreign currency revaluation.
4. Therefore, no movement should be posted/recorded on the Supplier's Foreign or Local Currency balances. Therefore, no transactions should exist on the AP/AR Enquiries or transaction reports.
5. In this case the only two accounts that should be affected for every Foreign Currency Revaluation transaction per Customer / Supplier account:
- Either the Revaluation Profit, or Revaluation Loss account (depending if a Profit or Loss is recorded), and
- The Provision for Revaluation account
as specified on the AP/ AR Defaults | Foreign Currency tab.

or the same accounts specified below on the relevant AP / AR Group.
