Summary

This article includes information regarding the submission deadline of the Return of Earnings (ROE) / CF-2a (previously W.As.8) declaration to the South African Workman's Compensation.

Description

The Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) Act requires all South African employers to submit their Return of Earnings (ROE) or CF-2A (previously known as the W.As.8)  declaration of annual earnings to the Compensation Fund each year.

This amount, combined with the category in which the business is registered, will determine the amount payable by the employer to the Compensation Fund.

Resolution

The deadline for South African employer to submit the Return of Earnings is officially 31 March each year; however, in practice, this is generally extended.

The Acting Director-General of Employment and Labour published a general notice (Notice 2314 of 2024) extending the deadline for the 2023 Return of Earnings (Financial year 2023/2024) submission.

The notice confirms that  submissions will be opened from 1 April 2023 to 30 June 2024.
