View the version of your computer's operating system

Your computer's operating system manages memory and applications to run smoothly. Determine what operating system is on your computer.

1. Access File Explorer on your computer.
2. Locate This PC.
3. Right-click on This PC and select Properties.
4. Under the Device specification section: 
   • System Type: indicates if you have a 64-bit or 32-bit operating system
5. In the Windows specification section:
   • Edition: displays the installed version of Windows on your computer
