The UIF Start Date field will default to the Date Engaged for all Active employees
If the Status has been changed to Maternity, Illness or Seasonal Worker, the following Date fields become mandatory:
The UIF End Date indicates the last date that the employee is Active for UIF purposes.
The UIF Start Date will be used once the employee returns to work and the UIF Employment Status is changed back to Active.
When the Employment Status is changed back to Active, the UIF End Date field will be cleared.
If the employees status is not changed in the month the employee returns to work you are able to change the status to active, however there may be instances where the UIF End date does not clear resulting in the following error from the UIF Department " Employee: ID number, Surname, Name 8270 - Cannot have a Termination date if Employment status code is 01"
