Windows regional settings control how date, time, numbers, and currency appear across applications. Correct settings are essential for accurate payroll and reporting in Sage products.

Resolution

Step 1: Open regional settings

  1. Click the Start button, search for Control Panel, then select Control Panel.
  2. Select Region in the Control Panel options.
  3. The Region dialog box appears.

Step 2: Adjust format settings

  1. Click the Formats tab.
  2. Click Additional Settings.
  3. Select the Numbers tab and review/update:
    • Decimal symbol: Full stop (.)
    • Digit grouping symbol: None
    • Negative sign symbol: Minus (-)
    • List separator: Comma (,)
    • Measurement system: Metric
    • Use native digits: Never
  4. Select the Currency tab and review/update:
    • Positive currency: No sign
    • Negative currency: minus sign before values (-)
    • Decimal symbol: full stop (.)
    • Digit grouping symbol: None
  5. Click Apply.

Step 3: Apply changes

  • Click OK to save changes.
  • The new format applies across Windows and applications.
