The South African Minister of Finance has published a Notice where the effective date of the increase to the UIF contribution limit (R17 712 per month) has been published with effect as of 01 June 2021.

Please click here to view the Government Gazette.

NOTE: Release 5.6a and 5.6b software will continue to reflect the current UIF contribution limit of R14 872 per month. The increase to R17 712 must be manually adjusted in calendar month 6, on your payroll. The contribution will be updated in the next release scheduled for release in September 2021.

The current UIF Contribution limit can be verified and edited on the Basic Company Information screen.

  • From the Main Menu
  • Click on Company
  • Click on Basic Company Information Screen
  • UIF Monthly Earnings Limit must be changed to R17 712

NOTE: Please perform a general recalculation after manually adjusting the monthly UIF limit, such that the system applies the change to all employees. Check employee payslip screens to ensure that the change has been implemented accordingly.
