Can I install the Tax update if I have already paid my employees?

This article will help you determine the consequences of installing the tax update if you have already paid employees on Sage 200c, Sage Premier, and Sage Classic


You find that you need to install the update, however employees have already been paid.


It's always advisable to install the update in a new pay period - where employees have not yet been paid. This is to ensure that payroll figures do not change.

The update will apply the new tax tables, and will force a PAYE recalculation of values.  

If you have already paid employees and then installed the update, you can choose one of the options to correct your payroll system.
