e@syFile error: "Employer Trade Classification (2035), this field must not be completed from 2021 Transaction year (code 2031)"

You have imported the IRP5 file into e@syFile and the following validation error appears:

EXAMPLE: 

Your payroll is on an older release which is not compatible with the current version of SARS e@syFile, or the Employer record on e@syFile includes the Trade Classification.

According to the SARS Business Requirement Specification: As from the 2021 year or assessment, the trade classification on code 2035 should not be completed or appear on the import file. It is mandatory for prior years of assessment.

Remove the Trade Classicfication on SARS e@syfile

• Access SARS e@syFile and select the specific company
• Select EMPLOYER ADMIN > View/Edit/Change
• Select Edit Employer
• Remove the value next to Activity within Major Division (also known as Trade Classification). If you hover over the 3 dots, a message confirming the field must npot be completed appears

Ensure the payroll application is on the correct compatible version for the specific submission

• Update you payroll application to the latest compatible release, which is compatible with the current version of SARS e@syFile
