Description
Replacing the company data in your live system returns your company to the point you originally created the backup. Select this option is you want to reprocess your payroll.
CAUTION: Replacing your live data overwrites all your current information. Be sure to back up your data before starting this process. Restoring a backup on an older version will require a data update, resulting in recalculation.
Resolution
Step 1 Create a backup of your company
- Before you replace the live company, create a backup
- For steps to create a backup: Backup data for this company
NOTE: All users need to log out during the retrieve and replace process.
Step 2 Retrieve the backup to replace the live data
- On the Active Payroll Subscription screen, click More actions.
- Choose Retrieve backup.
- Select your company from the dropdown list.
- Locate the backup from the list.
- Click Retrieve under Actions.
You'll return to the Active Payroll Subscription screen.
Step 3 Replace the backup
- On the Active Payroll Subscription screen, click the company in the Retrieved Backups column.
- Select Replace the company in my live data with the backup's data.
- Review the information on the Backup Action pop-up.
- Select Restore Backup.
CAUTION: If you see the message 'There was a problem replacing the backup in live', the system couldn’t replace the live data. This indicates the backup is on an older version, or from a previous tax year. Contact Customer Support for assistance.
