August Backup

Backup for Bi-Annuals in Sage Pastel Payroll.

The August backup is critical; make sure you know exactly where you’re saving it, or you risk losing the most important bi-annual file.

Payroll will prompt a backup before moving into September for Bi-Annuals, unless you’ve turned off Automatic Backup (not advised).

Make sure you’re in the right company before starting the backup, then follow the steps below:

Go to File then Back up.
Select the directory on your computer where Payroll must save the backup.
We recommend you save your August backup in a separate folder as follows:
- Click New Folder
- Name the folder 'August Backup 2025/26'
- Click Create then Process

Naming your folder 'August Backup' makes it easy to find later if you need to restore.
