Error: This installation is forbidden by system policy

Sage Classic, Sage Premier, Sage 200c VIP: This article will provide guidance to resolve the error message when accessing the system the first time after a software update or new installation.

During an update, updated versions of Sage Connected Services and Sage VIP Runtime is installed. When you access the first time after installation on each workstation, both applications will be updated. Should the user profile be unable to continue with the installation, the following error message appears onscreen:

According tor the software installation requirements, which should be followed with each installation, the following user rights requirements are specified:

• Full Administrator rights will be required by the user running the installation of the update. It is strongly advised to run the installation on the server if you are working
  in a server environment.
• For each user logging into the Payroll application, full Administrator rights will be required for the first login after the installation of the update. This is a once off and can be removed again after the first login. A workstation reboot will be required if the user does not have full access.

The message indicates the user profile running the installation does not have sufficient rights to run the application, and you need to acknowledge to elevate the install process to run as administrator.

TIP: Always restart your computer/server before installing software or accessing the system the first time after you have updated your software. Close and save all other programs, not to lose any data.

When you receive the error message during the installation or when they access the the application the first time after an update:

• Select Yes to continue with the installation of Sage Connected Service and Sage VIP Runtime as administrator,
• If you select No, the installation will terminate, and you will not be able to access the payroll application.
• If you select Yes, but the installation does not continue and stays on the same message, it indicates that the installer is unable to acquire the necessary rights to run the installation. In this instance, we recommend that your system administrator/IT provide temporary administrator rights to the user of the computer, for the installation to be done locally of both Sage Connected Service and Sage VIP Runtime.

CAUTION: This installation might result in the computer to automatically restart.
