How to change an employee’s pay frequency on Sage Pastel Payroll.
Resolution
NOTE: Make a Backup before proceeding and ensure that there are No Processed Employees.
Terminate on the 'old' pay frequency masterfile.
- Go to Edit then Employee Masterfile.
- Click the Terminate icon.

Enter an End Date, Use the end date of the employee’s pay frequency to ensure they’re paid correctly for that period.

Enter a Reason for termination. - Click OK then click Yes on the confirmation message.
Reinstate on a New masterfile.
- Remain on this masterfile.
- Click the Reinstate icon
. - Click Yes on the confirmation message.
- Select the 'Reinstate the employee with a new masterfile' option and click OK.
- Enter a new employee code.
- Enter a new start date (Set the start date to the day after the old masterfile’s termination date).
- Click the Payment tab and change the Pay Frequency to the new Frequency.
- Optional: You can change the Profile for the employee as well: Profile 1000 - for Monthly, Profile 2000 - for Weekly, Profile 3000 - for Fortnightly
- Safe the masterfile.
- Click Yes to add the mandatory transactions.
TIP: You’ll have to set up your Leave and Payslip again, bringing over the values from the old masterfile.
