ERROR: 'Invalid Class String' when accessing the payroll

The issue relates to not all necessary components installed to run the program.

Create a new desktop shortcut

1. Create a shortcut to access your payroll application.
2. Delete the original shortcut from your desktop.

Review CBLCONFI configuration file properties 

1. Right-click on the new system shortcut on your desktop.
2. Select Open file location.
3. Locate the file CBLCONFI in the system folder.
4. Validate that the file type of the CBLCONFI file is 'File':
   • Right-click on the CBLCONFI file
   • Select Properties
   • On the General tab, ensure the Type of file is 'File'
5. To review the file contents of the CBLCONFI file, right-click on the file.
6. Select Open With.
7. Select Notepad.
8. Change the MAX FILES value to either 1024 or 2048 (this is the maximum amount to allocate).
9. On the menu, click File, then select Save.

    

10. Click Exit to close the CBLCONFI file.

Uninstall Sage Connected Services and Sage VIP Runtime

1. Click the Windows button on the Taskbar.
2. Locate the Control Panel application and select Open.
3. Select Programs and Features.
4. On the list of programs, locate Sage Connected Services.
5. Right-click on the program and select Uninstall.
6. On the list of programs, locate Sage VIP Runtime.
7. Right-click on the program and select Uninstall.
8. Restart the computer after you complete the uninstall process.

Reinstall Sage Connected Services and Sage VIP Runtime

1. Right-click on the system shortcut on your desktop.
2. Select Open file location.
3. Locate the file SCSsetup.exe.
4. Right-click on the program and select Run as administrator.
5. Once completed, locate the file SageVIPRuntime.exe. 
6. Right-click on the program and select Run as administrator.
7. Close the File Explorer window.

Register MARSHAL

• Click the Windows button on your Taskbar.
• Search for the Run application.
• Click Open.
• Type in the command "c:\Program Files (x86)\Sage VIP"\Marshal.exe /regserver. 
• Press Enter.

Access the payroll 

• Launch the payroll to confirm you've fixed the error
