Resolution
How to activate or deactivate the UIF Status when an employee goes on/returns from Leave or has Reduced Work Time
From the Main Menu:
- Select Employee > Change Employee
- Select the employee code of the applicable employee
- Select the Statutory Details tab
- Under the UIF & SDL section, click on the magnifying glass next to 'UIF EMployment Status' to access the UIF subscreen:
- If the Status is changed to any other status than Active, the following date fields become mandatory to indicate:
- UIF End Date - indicates the last date that the employee is active for UIF purposes. This is the last pay period the employee is at the company
- UIF Start Date - The date on which the employee will return to work or adjusted UIF Status expires
- When the Employment Status is changed back to Active, the UIF End Date field will be cleared
NOTE: when an employee return from leave or normal active work hours, the UIF Status needs to be manually changed to Active.
Click on the 'Guidelines' button available on the UIF status screen to view more details.
TIP: The UIF History reflects all previous UIF status changes and dates on the record.
