Summary
How to resolve the e@syFile Import error IRP5 cannot be indicated if the PAYE number starts with either 0, 1, 2 or 9 - code 3015
Description
You are importing the IRP5 files for either the Annual or Interim SARS Submission into e@syFile and the import fails.
Resolution
The PAYE number of a company, which appears on the monthly EMP201 will always start with a 7, and is 10 digits long. If the number starts with a 9, it is the company Income Tax number, not the PAYE number. An IRP5 will always contain PAYE tax number, thus the number for the company, which forms part of the certificate number, and must be correct. The error above thus indicates the number in VIP is incorrect and needs to be changed.
- Access the Basic Company Information Screen (COMP) and correct the PAYE number in the field next to Tax Registration Number' (this field is used in other tax countries as well)
- Ensure if you correct the PAYE number, to correct the UIF (replace the 7 with a U) and SDL reference numbers (replace the 7 with a L)
