Summary

How to resolve the e@syFile Import error If ETI qualifying 12 month period indicator (code 7005) is 1, then If Monthly calculated ETI (code 7004) cannot be greater than R1000 for ETI Month XX

Description

You are importing the IRP5 files for either the Annual or Interim SARS Submission into e@syFile and the import fails.

Resolution

If the employee is in Set 1 (first 12 months) of qualifying for ETI, the ETI value cannot be more than R1 000

Image

  • Identify the month where the ETI value exceeds R1 000
  • In that month, is the employee active or terminated
  • If the employee was terminated, is the termination date for that month, or was the employee terminated in that month for the previous month (late termination)
  • If a late termination and there should be no remuneration for the month, it is most like due to the sequence of events on the payroll that the ETI incorrectly calculated. You can use the ETI take-on to remove the ETI value.
  • If the employee was active, determine if an ETI take-on was done. The ETI take-on can be used to remove or correct the value.

NOTE:  Removing or reducing any ETI values will require you to review the ETI value claimed on the EMP201 for that specific month as it will impact your EMP501 submission. Reducing ETI values now will cause your recon not to balance and you will need to pay over the outstanding amount to SARS.
