Summary
Description
You are importing the IRP5 files for either the Annual or Interim SARS Submission into e@syFile and the import fails. This error is usually accompanied by another error: Source Code 4149 value x.xx not equal to total of 4101 + 4102 + 4115 + 4141 + 4142 = x.xx
Cause
Since they system is no longer calculating SITE, the IRP5 code 4101 may not be completed from the 2014 year of assessment. In our scenario we investigated: Print the audit trail and you will see the employee was terminated and then reinstated, so tax values were loaded on Deduction line 1 and the employee was again terminated - this resulted in a Tax value for SITE on the Tax Screen.
Resolution
Check on VIP on the TAX screen, if the value for TAX is against PAYE of SITE. There should not be any values against SITE
If there is a value against SITE, follow the steps below to resolve:
- Our IRP5 report ignores tax on SITE, thus does not print or include in export file.
- Enter 1c on a line defined 3601 Monthly taxable. The tax will refund on the Tax deduction line.
Adjust the tax on the ADD TAX line (if the tax should not be refunded) to offset the refund.
Should these steps not resolve the issue, try the following steps:
- Access HS screen of terminated employee and remove the Tax amount.
- Enter R1 or 1c on the payslip screen
- Re-enter Tax amount on HS screen and remove all amounts on the payslip screen again
- Do IRP5 run again.
- The amount should then be included in the IRP5 file next to code 4102.
