Description
The error occurs when you have multiple PAYE number databases in the South African Revenue Service (SARS) e@syFile™ Employer software. When you try to select another company, the system displays: 'Could not change to the selected employer. Error #1009'.
Cause
The error indicates a company's data in the SARS e@syFile software has become corrupted.
Resolution
- Restore the e@syFile™ Employer database for the affected company.
- Refer to the SARS guide for steps to complete this process
- If restoring isn’t possible, create a new e@syFile™ Employer company database and complete the submission there.
- To create a new database, you'll need to remove the old one in File Explorer
