ERROR: 'Control Character Found on Employee Data Certificate Number'

You are importing the IRP5 files for either the Annual or Interim SARS Submission into e@syFile and the import fails.

SARS does allow special characters in some data fields exported to the IRP5 file. Click here to access the SARS BRS Version 18.0.5, page 7. There all allowed special characters are listed.

• The Line Number and Certificate Number on the Warnings tab will indicate which certificate has the issue.
• Open the file in Notepad to review the certificate data with the issue. Look for special characters in the employee name and address field and remove those not allowed as per the list provided.
