Summary

How to resolve the e@syFile Import error Code 4472 is completed, then code 3817 and/or 3867 and code 4001 must be completed

Description

You are importing the IRP5 files for either the Annual or Interim SARS Submission into e@syFile and the import fails. When importing the IRP5 file, the employee has a Pension Fund CC but there is no perk value.

There will be no fringe benefit value but only in the below circumstances, in all other cases, there must be a fringe benefit:

  • Employer contributes to a retirement fund on behalf of an employee who is retired from the fund (not the same as an employee who is legally retired)
  • Employer contributes to a retirement fund in respect of the dependents or nominees of a deceased member of that fund.

Resolution

Validate the Fund Start Dates on the Employee’s Information Screen (IS), Benefit Details tab, and the individuals Fund Start dates on the Payslip Screen (PS) RF screen, ensure the information is correct.

  • Please ensure that the Employee Contribution, Company Contribution, Perk and RFI (if applicable) is correct and according to the fund rules, for periods within the submission period. Be sure to validate that all calculations, since over-calculation of contributions might lead to an invalid 0 RF perk.
  • If the RF perk did not calculate due to GCALCs not done as required - the only way to resolve this is to access the HS screen, remove the Company Contribution and return the same value again for the perk to be recalculated on the HS screen.
  • If the value stays 0 and the fund is a DB or Hybrid, do a manual calculation of the perk amount, and ensure that the fund factor is correct. The perk should only be zero if a) the employee is retired or b) it is a beneficiary or nominee of a deceased employee. If the calculated value is zero, we suggest the fund setup is confirmed by requesting the fund certificate reflecting the fund factor, to be used in the calculation of the perk (A*B) - C.
  • If the employee is 'legally retired from the fund' (not 'legally retired'), no perk value will calculate, and the fringe benefit code 3817/3867 will not appear in the IRP5 file
