How do I use the chat function?

In this article you will learn how to use the chat function in-app or via the Customer Zone in Sage 50cloud Pastel Accounting.


You can access the chat option from within the Sage Pastel Accounting Program or from the Customer Zone.

NOTE: Live Chat support hours are 8am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am – 4pm on Friday and 9am – 12pm on Saturday.  Please note that Live chat is not available on public holidays or on Sundays.


From within the Sage Pastel Accounting program select the Chat option.




Or open the Customer Zone, click HERE

  • Enter Your Customer Number 
  • Enter the Customer Zone password
  • Select Sign in. 

 NOTE: Please note that in the case you need the password click on the link under Your customer number to have the password emailed to the email address linked to the serial number you will use. Alternatively you can also do a Reset Password procedure. 





  • Select the option Click here to start chat Under the Sage Live chat box 

  • Enter your Name and Email address in the fields provided
  • Specify nature of query i.e. Registrations or Support
  • Select Submit 

NOTE: Please note that nature of query selection differs depending on whether you started Live Chat from Customer Zone or the Sage Pastel Accounting program. 




  • Click either Support or Registrations depending on your query




  •  Select the Chat option

NOTE: This may take a few minute to generate depending on your internet connection.




  • Enter your Name and Email address in the fields Provided
  • Select a department and click Start Chat


  • ImageThe chat screen will come up once you have been connected to an agent



  • To send a file or picture select Options| Send a file
  • To receive a copy of the chat, select Email Transcript
  • You can also edit contact details
  • Once done select End this chat to exit
