How do I use the chat function?

Summary

In this article you will learn how to use the chat function in-app or via the Customer Portal in Sage 50cloud Pastel Accounting.

Resolution

You can access the chat option from within the Sage Pastel Accounting Program, from the Customer Portal or from the direct link below:

NOTE: Live Chat support hours are 8am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am – 4pm on Friday.  Please note that Live chat is not available on weekend or public holidays.

You can access the chat option from within Pastel.

  • Click of the chat icon from within your Sage Product

  • The Chat window will display on the bottom right of the screen
  • Select the department you wish to connect with i.e. Product Registration or Sage 50c Partner and Xpress Support

  • Select continue

  • Enter you name and email address (madatory)
  • Please include the subject i.e error code 20 
  • Enter your Customer Number by Account Number which you can find by going to Help>About in you Sage Product (optional)
  • Click Start chat

  • Type you message in the message box to chat to the registration/support agent
  • Click the Smilie face to send emojis
  • Click the X button to close the chat

  • Select End chat to end or No to continue talking to the agent
  • If you select End Chat you will be taken to a survey please complete this so we can see what you experience was.

You can also access the chat from the Customer Portal, click HERE

  • Enter Your Customer Number 
  • Enter the Customer Portal password
  • Select Sign in. 

 NOTE: Please note that in the case you need the password click on the link under Your customer number to have the password emailed to the email address linked to the serial number you will use. Alternatively you can also do a Reset Password procedure.

  • Select the option "Click here to start chat" Under the Sage Live chat box
