Summary
Description
The error occurs when trying to run your Sage Intelligent report.
Cause
The error is caused by Sage Intelligence Report Designer Add-Ins that are not installed correctly or has been disabled.
This error may occur in the following circumstances:
- The User Account Control is turned on
- You are using Microsoft online version
- The Sage Intelligent components are corrupted
- The BI generator and tools are missing in Excel
Resolution
- Ensure the User Account Control (UAC) is turned off
- Select Start > Control Panel > User Accounts
- Select Change User Account Control Settings, ensure the slider is at the bottom on Never notify
- Select Start button > Search for UAC
- Select the option Change User Account Control settings
The User Account Control Settings screen will display, ensure the slider is at the bottom on Never notify
- Ensure you have the desktop version of Microsoft office installed
- Navigate to your control panel
- Select Programs and Features
- Ensure your Microsoft office package displays
- The Sage Intelligent components are corrupted or missing
3.1 Uninstall Sage Intelligence
- Navigate to your Control Panel
- Select Programs and Features
- Highlight Sage Intelligence (Ensure you have selected the correct version i.e. V19)
- Select uninstall and the top of the window
- Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files
- Rename the following files to OLD
- BIComponents
- BIComponentsDotNet
- BIExcelFunctions1.1
- BIGenerator
3.2 Reinstall Sage Intelligence.
- Click Here to download the latest version of Sage Intelligence
- Select the Accounting Cross Sell product tab
- Select the correct Sage Intelligence download i.e. Partner or Xpress depending on which product you are running
- Once downloaded run the installation
- The BI generator and tools are missing in Excel
- Excel
- Open Excel on the computer you are trying to run the report but get the error message
- Select File > Options > Add-Ins. You will note that the BI Generator is not showing in the list below

4.2 Registry Editor
- Select Start > Type in regedit in the search column
- The Registry Editor will open
- Select > HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins
- Right click on Addins > New > Key
- Type in BIGenerator, in the space provided on the left-hand side
- Open Excel
- Select File > Options > Add-Ins to ensure the BI Generator is showing
- If the generator is not showing select COM Add-Ins
- Select GO
- Select the BI Generator
- Select OK
