The System requirements for Sage 50cloud Pastel.

Resolution

To ensure a successful installation, check the following before you start:

You can log on to each computer as an administrator
You've got your serial number, Registered name, and account number. You find these on your Sage tax invoice

▼ Check your version of Sage 50cloud Pastel

We currently support the following versions:

Sage 50cloud Pastel V19
Sage 50cloud Pastel V18
Sage 50cloud Pastel V17
Sage 50cloud Pastel V14

We cannot provide technical support for older versions, even if you have a valid support contract.

You can always find the latest downloads on the Download Manager.

▼ Check your operating system

CAUTION:

Sage 50cloud Pastel V19 and above isn't compatible with, and won't install on, the following operating systems: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2012 (including R2).

Press the Windows key and R, then type winver, then click OK

This opens the About Windows window, which displays the operating system details.

We support these Microsoft Windows operating systems in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions:

Windows 11 (except Windows 11S)
Windows 10 (except Windows 10S), build 1709 or later
Windows Server 2025 (except Windows Server 2025 Essentials)
Windows Server 2022 (except Windows Server 2022 Essentials)
Windows Server 2019 (except Windows Server 2019 Essentials)
Windows Server 2016 (except Windows Server 2016 Essentials)

NOTE:

We don't recommend Windows Home for multi-users because it has network limitations.

Also, ensure you've installed all the latest Microsoft updates.

▼ Check your computer specifications

RAM (Memory)

Server: You'll need 8 gigabytes (GB) or 16GB RAM if you're running a 64-bit operating system. Plus 2GB per user connecting to the server.

Workstation: You'll need 4 gigabytes (GB) or 8GB RAM if you're running a 64-bit operating system. This depends on what other software you're running, as these programs have their own memory needs, like Microsoft Office.

To check your computer specifications:

Hold the Windows key + E to open File Explorer.
Right-click on This PC and select Properties.
Ensure your PC specs match or exceed the minimum.

Free disk space

You need 5GB of free disk space.

Processor

You'll need to use a Core i3, i5, i7, or above.

Microsoft .NET

Ensure you enable .net Framework for Pastel to run correctly

Type Turn Windows Features On or Off in the Windows Search.
Select the option to Turn Windows Feature on or off.
Tick all options for .net Framework 3.5 and 4.8.
Click OK to install.
Restart your PC.

▼ Check Microsoft Office

Ensure you're using Office 365 Business Premium desktop version.

Check the memory specs for Office to ensure your machine can run Office and Pastel effectively.

Check support.microsoft.com for the specifications.
