Uninstalling and reinstalling Pervasive

Summary

How to uninstall and reinstall Pervasive when using Sage 50cloud Pastel.

Resolution

Uninstall

  1. Select Start then Control Panel
  2. Look for Programs and Features
  3. Right-click Pervasive PSQL v10 or Actian PSQL v13 and select Uninstall
  4. Close the Control Panel

Installing

  1. Go to http://pastelupdate.sagesouthafrica.co.za/.
  2. Select the Pervasive PSQL tab and click Download by the Pervasive you need to install.
  3. Go to the downloaded file and right-click the zipped folder.
  4. Select Extract All.
  5. Go to the normal yellow folder.
  6. Depending if you're installing workgroup, server or client, search for setupworkgroup, setupserver, or setupclient.
    • These files are exe files
  7. Double-click setupxx.exe and click Next.
  8. Accept the License Agreement and click Next.
  9. Select Install as a Service and click Next until you get to Install. 
  10. Click Finish.
