Year end preparation: Check for a retained income account in Sage 50cloud Pastel

Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

Check that your company has one retained income account in Sage 50cloud Pastel before you run your year end. If it's missing, create one to prevent a year-end error.

Resolution

Why this matters

Sage 50cloud Pastel moves your annual profit to the retained income account when you run the Year End. Your company needs only one retained income account for this to work.

If the account is missing, the year end fails with an error. If you have more than one, you need to delete the duplicates before you run the year end.

TIP:

When you create a new company with the Setup Assistant, Sage 50cloud Pastel creates the retained income account for you.

  1. From the main menu, select Edit, then General Ledger.
  2. Select Accounts.
  3. Select the magnifying glass icon.
  4. Change Zoom Sequence to Description.
  5. Search for retained income.

Based on what you find, follow one of the sections below.
