E@syfile Failure: Invalid Format Line must end with 9999

Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

How to clear the 'Invalid Format line must end with 9999' from E@syfile.

Description

This error happens because there’s an incomplete line in your IRP5 file. It’s usually a special character—like a symbol or punctuation—that didn't export properly into the file format.

Resolution

  1. Go to Edit then Employee Masterfile.
  2. Click in the text field to check for special characters like spaces, commas, or full stops.
  3. Remove the special character and remember to check the other text fields.
  4. Check these common fields:
    • Surname
    • Name
    • Nickname
    • Account Holder (on the Payment tab)

If you can't locate the spaces, send the IRP5 import file and the E@syfile error message to Log a Sage Request.
