Description
You’re importing the IRP5 tax certificate file into the SARS e@syFile™ Employer software, and the import fails. The error can come up during the Annual or Interim EMP501 submission to the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
The issue relates to a Personal Services Provider (PSP) employee record.
Cause
The company registration number format is incorrect.
Resolution
- Access the payroll company from your Company Listing screen
- From the main menu, go to Employee, then select Change Employee
- Select the employee record mentioned in the error
- Review and correct following information on the Personal Details tab:
- The Gender is 'Company or CC'
- The Comp Number is in the format CCYY/NNNNNN/NN
TIP: You'll get the correct Company Registration or CK number on the company registration documentation.
- Review the following information on the Statutory Details tab:
- The tax status is 'PSP - Company'
NOTE: Any change on the tax status could result in a tax recalculation.
- Export your IRP5 file again
- Import the new IRP5 file into SARS e@syFile™ Employer to make sure the error is fixed
