This article discusses how to fix the following issue: 

You should expect a warning message if reserving more units (quantities) as available for a specific Lot Number, when saving a Sales Order. 

 

Consider the following steps to explain further: 

1. Go to Maintenance | Inventory| Inventory Items. 

2. Create a new Lot Inventory Item with Item Code AAA. 

3. Go to Transactions | Order Entry | Purchase Order. 

4. Capture and process a new Supplier Invoice for item AAA as follows:

Quantity: 1 x Ordered and 1 x Confirmed of item AAA.

In the same process, create Lot Number Lot123.

5. Go to Maintenance | Inventory | Lot Tracking. Here, find and approve Lot123.

6. Go to Order Entry | Maintenance | Order defaults | Sales Order tab.

7. Select the option to activate reserved stock and save the change made.

8. Go to Transactions | Order Entry | Sales Order.

9. Capture the new SO as follows:

  • Item AAA Quantity Reserved and Confirmed = 1
  • Any selling price
  • Select Lot Number Lot123

10. Click on Close and Save.

11. Go to Transactions | Order Entry | Sales Order| Open.

12. Find and open the same saved Sales Order.

13. Adjust the quantities: 2 for Reserved and Confirm.

14. Click on Close and Save.

15. Notice there’s no warning message displayed such as:  "Line 1 Insufficient quantity available in Lot123 to reserve Available 0"

 

 

Resolution

Consider the following advice to resolve the above issue/error:

This issue was due to a known software bug, logged as IS-15412

Fortunately, it has been fixed since Evolution version 11.0.5.

Therefore, upgrade your Evolution package to resolve this matter.

Currently, the latest available version is 11.2.1 (as in March 2026).
