Creating a 'Data Files and Programs' backup
Description

A 'Data files and Programs' backup include the data for all companies and files in the system folder. This option excludes any subfolders.

CAUTION:

All users need to exit the system before starting the backup process.

Cause
Resolution
  1. Access any of your payroll companies on the Company Listing screen.
  2. From the Main Menu of the company, go to Utilities, then select Backup.
  3. Choose Data Files and Programs.
  4. Confirm the From Directory:
    • Displays the location of your system directory
  5. Review the To Directory location:
    • Browse to the folder where you want to save the backup
    • Confirm the destination folder exists
    • Ensure there's sufficient space in the destination drive
    • The folder can't be within the system directory
    • Avoid spaces in the folder name
  6. Review the Backup File Name:
    • The system automatically allocates a filename - we recommend keeping it
    • Avoid spaces in the backup filename
  7. Click Continue.
  8. An on-screen message confirms the backup location.
    Select Yes to proceed.
  9. A Command Prompt (CMD) will appear, indicating the backup process starts.
    Don’t close the screen or interrupt the process.
  10. An on-screen message will confirm once the backup is successful.
    Click OK to return to the Main Menu.
