Use this process to copy a Flexi GL layout from an existing interface file into another payroll directory or system.

Follow these steps to import a Flexi GL layout:

Step 1: Access the General Ledger Control screen

1. From the Main Menu, select Interfaces, then select Export Control.
2. Choose General Ledger.
3. Select the General Ledger Interface option 'VIP Flexi.
4. At the bottom of the screen, click Flexi (visible only if the interface is VIP Flexi).

Step 2: Open Flexi Maintenance options

On the General Ledger Flexi Maintenance screen, you can:

• Edit Flexi Layout
• Delete Flexi Layout
• Create a new Flexi Layout
• Copy Flexi Layout from/to Interface File
• Exit Maintenance

Select Copy Flexi Layout from/to Interface File.

Step 3: Extract layout from interface file

1. On the General Ledger Export Layouts screen, select Extract from an Interface file.
2. Click Choose a file to browse for the interface files or drag them from File Explorer.

Important:

• Select both NEWGLX.REP and NEWGLX.VIX files together.
• Hold CTRL and click each file to select both.

3. Click Upload to copy the files to the cloud. The system ticks uploaded files ticked.

Step 4: Select and assign the layout

1. When the files upload completes, existing layouts in the interface file will display.
2. Click the layout you want to extract.
3. Indicate the Layout code (A–Z) where to allocate the new GL layout.

Note:

• If you select an existing code, the layout will be overwritten.
• A warning message will confirm this before proceeding.

4. Click Continue. A message confirms the copy of the layout to the Master file completed.

Step 5: Exit the process

• Click Cancel to close the Copy Flexi Layout from/to Interface File screen.
• Click Cancel again to exit Flexi Maintenance.

The new GL Flexi layout is now available for selection.
