When doing a Tax Year End Validation the system requires and employee that is not a South African Citizen to have and ID Number.

This would be caused by the employee Having a Permit setup under Basic Information on the system on Sage 300 People.

They are still issued a Temporary ID Document by the Department of Labour and this needs to be captured on the Basic Information Tab of the Employee

If you do not have the ID Number for a Person with a Residency Permit/Asylum Seeker Permit/Refugee Permit

• Expand Employee Management
• Select Employees
• Select Employee Detail
• Select the Basic Information Tab
• Select the Detail Tab
• Select Permits

One always needs this information but if one really needs to submit ones EMP501 you need to deselect the Asylum Seeker/Refugee Permit/Residency Permit and the validation will not require an ID Number:

It is important to ensure that you do then get the Temporary ID Number from the employee so you can recapture the Asylum Seeker/Refugee Permit details for the next SARS Submission
