About the Log File
When licenced for any of the 4 options of the Advanced Audit Trail, the following options will be available on the Reports Menu:

  • View Log File,
  • Print Log File,
  • Purge Log File, and
  • Rebuild Log File.

How to Print the Log File?

How to Print the Log File
The Print Log File option will allow you to print the audit file.

You have to specify the Report Criteria at the top of the screen.

Additional Printing options are also available:

  • Include grid lines when printing:
    • This option will allow users who are still using dot matrix printers to print faster.
    • Include header and footer information when printing.
  • Print to File:
    • The file will be printed to a HTML document which can be viewed in MS Excel or MS Word. Please take note that when you select this option, the "Include header and footer" information when printing option above must not be selected.
  • Print to Printer:
    • This includes a print preview.
       
How to Purge the Log File?

How to Purge the Log File
The Purge Log File option will allow you to purge audit log transactions.

You may select the Period Ending 'From' and 'To' which the records must be purged. If you accept the default selections on this screen, namely 'First' and 'Last', all records will be deleted.

Please take note of the VERY IMPORTANT message at the bottom of the screen, before you select to purge any records.

Because of the size of the Audit Log File, it is advisable to rebuild the log file after selecting to purge audit log transactions. See How to Rebuild the Log File below for more information.

The Rebuild Log File option will allow you to rebuild the Log Info File.

Please take note of the blue help message before you select to <Continue>.

The Audit Trail and Audit Log File will both create an Audit Transaction when an Operator has logged into, or logged out of the company. The Audit Name for the Operator, as it appears on the Advanced Access Control Screen, will be printed on the Audit Trails.
