Legislative Upgrade
Description

The message regarding the Legislative Upgrade usually happens when you roll over into the new tax year.  The Legislative upgrade consists of 2 parts.

  1. Downloading and Installing the Update that has the new Tax Tables
  2. Running a Legislative release to incorporate the changes

NOTE: You can process your first weeks payroll on the old tax tables. The system will recalculate the values in the period where you run the legislative release.

CAUTION: 
You can process payslips using the old tax tables in the new financial year. The system will automatically adjust any over or under deductions once you update to 2025 Update 2 and complete the legislative release.

NOTE:

 This guide applies to the South African MSI file. For other countries, uninstall and reinstall the country-specific MSI file

TIP: If you are already on the latest update, you will have to run a legislative release (step 3) to clear the message.

  1. You can always check our download manager to make sure if the 2025 Update 2 is available for download.
    1. The first update in the list will always be the full install of the latest update and can be installed irrespective of what your current version of payroll is.
    2. The download manager is also accessed in payroll by going to utility, weblinks, and download latest version.
  2. Click the download option, wait for the download to finish, and install the update.
  3.  

    After installing the update, run a legislative release to apply the new tax tables
  4. Once the legislative release is complete, check if your company is updated to the latest tax tables.

NOTE: This message will NOT stop you from doing your processing, unless you are in the MAY period of the new financial year. You can continue to process your weekly wages for March until you have the time to download the latest version.
