Employment Equity: Equity Global Activation

This article forms part of the article where we discuss on how to implement the Equity Module. There is a checklist to guide you through the process and this is Step 12 on the checklist.

The Equity Global Activation option is used to globally activate or change fields on the Employee Equity and Employee Equity History Screens for all employees or per Category, Paypoint, Department, Job Grade or Job Titles.

To access the Equity Global Activation, from the Main Menu:
Click on Equity
Click on Global Activation

Once you have selected Global Activation, the following onscreen messages will appear before opening up the screen:

Once you have acknowledged those screens, you can proceed to update the required information:

Field Description
Update Equity Codes from Payroll Codes as linked The payroll codes that have been translated will automatically update the applicable Equity fields, for example the Occupational Level, etc. This will only update the current period according to the linking on the Company Equity Screen.
Update Equity Remuneration from Equity Remuneration Control The Equity Remuneration defined on the Equity Remuneration Control Screen will be used to calculate the employee’s Equity Remuneration. 
Update Training and Disciplinary flags from Personnel The Personnel History Module will be used to update the Training transactions for Equity purposes. This will only be applicable if the user is licensed for the Personnel History Module.
Change Type of Employment to You can also update the Type of Employment.
Change Citizenship to You can also update the Citizenship.

 

NOTE: The Global Activation will overwrite all existing information on the Employee Equity Screen previously manually entered, so it is advisable to make a backup before using this option.
