How to retrieve and view a backup
Description

Retrieve a historic payroll company backup to view the data as at the time you created the backup. This gives you a view to compare the information between pay periods.

Step 1 Retrieve the backup to replace the live data

  1. On the Active Payroll Subscription screen, click More actions.
  2. Choose Retrieve backup.
  3. Select your company from the dropdown list.
  4. Locate the backup from the list.
  5. Click Retrieve under Actions.
  6. You'll return to the Active Payroll Subscription screen.

 NOTE: Retrieving a backup doesn’t affect your live data. You can only retrieve one backup at a time. 


Step 2 Launch the backup

  1. On the Active Payroll Subscription screen, click the company backup in the Retrieved Backups column.
  2. You have the following options available:
    • Launch Backup: Open the backup in a separate system to view the data
    • Reset users: Unlock any file in use (if needed)
    • Return Backup to the archive and discard all changes made: Close the backup without affecting the live system or backup file
    • Replace old Backup in the archive and apply all changes made: Replace the original backup with any changes made
    • Replace the company in my live data with this backup's data: Overwrite your live data with the backup data 
  3. Click Launch to access the payroll.
