| How do I retrieve and view a backup? |
Description | Access historic backup data from your payroll, to view the payroll data at the point you created the backup. You also have options to replace the backup with changes, or replace the live data of your payroll. |
Resolution | - Access the backup from your Subscription/Landing Page, alongside the applicable Site Code under Actions
 - Click the three dots next to the launch button of your subscription and select Retrieve Backup
 - Select the company from the drop-down list.
- Select the applicable backup from the available list. All backups display the type of backup made, date and time stamp.
- Retrieving the backup could take a little time, based on the size of the data.
NOTE: Retrieving backups from the archive won't impact on your live data and can be accessed separately. You can only retrieve one backup from the archive at a time. When you retrieve the backup the <Retrieve Backup> button changes to <The Backup Name> with four options available to you: - Launch Backup: Launch the backup data in a system to view
- Return Backup to the archive and discard all changes made: Close the backup, no impact on Live system or backup file, as you don't replace any data
- Replace old Backup in the archive and apply all changes made: Not recommended, but an option - replace the original backup with all changes made
- Replace Backup in your live data with this backup's data: This option overwrites the live data with the data of this backup - use with caution
NOTE: The system prohibits the retrieve and restore of backup data into the live data where the backup is for a previous tax year. Contact Sage Customer Support if you need any assistance.
