You’ll reopen a tax period if you need to edit transactions that fall within the closed tax period.

You need the right permissions to reopen a tax period. By default, Sage blocks this option for all users, even administrators.

Checking you have the correct permissions.

1. Click Administration and then Control User Access.
2. Click Permissions.
3. Under VAT Returns and Reports, tick Reopen VAT Period.

Opening a closed tax period

1. Click Reports and then Tax.
2. Find the period you wish to reopen and click Reopen.
3. Click Yes.
