How do I create customers, suppliers and cashbooks that use Multi Currency?
Description

If you are using the Multi-Currency add-on module, you can set the currency for each customer, supplier and cashbook. Once you start processing for a customer, supplier and cashbook, you cannot change this field. Each customer, supplier and cashbook account can only work in one currency.

Creating foreign currency accounts

NOTE: You cannot change the currency of an account once transactions have been posted to the account.

 

Customer Accounts:

  • Select Edit > Customer > Accounts > Processing tab, select the correct currency for the Customer
  • Ensure Open Item is selected

 

 

Supplier Account:

  • Select Edit > Suppliers Accounts > Processing tab, select the correct currency for the Supplier
  • Ensure Open Item is selected

 

Foreign Bank Accounts:

If you use the Multi-Currency add-on module, you can select a currency for each cash book. The bank holds your funds in this currency. If you have foreign currency customers or suppliers, you can make or receive payments into any cash book irrespective of its currency.

Select the currency from the list box. If the cash book is in your own currency, select the Home Currency option.

NOTE: You cannot change the currency of a cash book once you post entries to it.

 

  • Select Edit > General Ledger > Accounts
  • Select the Magnifying glass to search for a bank account that has already been created. Look at the account number, close the zoom screen
  • Select the new icon to create a new account. Enter an account number that is next to the bank account that has already been created
    • Main Account: Balance Sheet must be selected and Bank is the Financial Category

 

  • Select the button to save the changes
  • The following screen will display, you need to select the currency you would like to use for this bank account

 

 

  • Select Yes to complete the setup
