Defaults and controls store the last used report filters per report and processing settings selected on Journals and Cashbooks. When your defaults and settings get corrupted, your reports, journals or cashbooks won't function as expected.

You'll need to ensure you've updated all open batches before resetting your defaults and controls.

Journal Settings

1. Go to Process then Journals.
2. Select a journal and make a note of the Reference.
3. Click Settings and check which options you selected.

You set up these settings per journal entry type. The General Journal settings will differ to the Customer Journal settings.

Cashbook Settings

1. Go to Process then Cashbook.
2. Select Process Cashbook and select the cashbook from the drop-down.
3. Select the Payments and make a note of the Reference.
4. Select the Receipts and make a note of the Reference.
5. Click Settings and check which options you selected.

Resetting defaults and settings

1. Click Utilities then Maintenance.
2. Select Reset Default and Settings.
3. Click Yes on the message and then OK.
4. Click OK.
5. Go set up all the journal and cashbook settings.

 NOTE: Update all open batches or the wizard won't run.
